Flicks on the Falls 2015 Schedule Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Standard

Flicks at the Falls at the Cuyahoga Falls riverfront center off of 2nd St. is so much fun!
There’s a spray pad (bring a cup or bucket! It’s so much fun!), portable toilets, a concession stand that has many options for a nominal charge, and the movie plays at sunset. Stadium style seating is available, but you can bring blankets or your own chairs, too. You can bring dry pajamas and change into them after the fountains and before the movie. There’s also a balloon artist that makes balloon creations for donations.
It’s handicap accessible and the movie and spray pad are free!
The schedule is posted below. We had a great time!
This fills up quickly, so I’d recommend getting there early.
Here’s the schedule:

I’m planning on taking the kids to check out Historic Sauder Village in NW Ohio and thought I’d share the info. It’s Ohio’s largest living-history village. You can visit with costumed guides and working craftsmen in more than 40 historic homes, community shops, farms and gardens. They also have great shopping and special events. Via their website: “For unique shipping year round, Sauder Village offers our Gift Shop, Lauber’s General Store, and the Quilt Shop. Also during the Historic Village’s open season the Village Trader & Herb Shop features unique items for purchase. Plenty of delicious food & treats options at the Barn Restaurant, Doughbox Bakery, Sweet Shoppe and Ice Cream Parlor.” They even have an Inn and Campground with great packages!

Hatch Jewelry Ambassador Program review and FREE trial link!

Image

image

I stumbled upon Hatch Jewelry a few months ago and loved the cool, artsy style but I really wasn’t in a place financially to purchase jewelry. I would just browse their site and drool over the beautiful pieces…handmade necklaces and bracelets, unusual earrings, stylish rings, and statement pieces that make me want to never wear my lazy sweatpants again! (If you know me, that’s a feat. lol)

Then, it all changed.

A little over a month ago, they introduced their Hatch Ambassador program and my dreams came true! The Ambassador program is kind of like a Netflix of jewelry. You can try out pieces as long as you like, then return and get new ones. OR you can keep any pieces that you just can’t part with at 20% off the retail price! This is the most awesome way to try before you buy. The best part is that it’s only $19/month and they put $10 of that into a savings that can roll over up to three months ($30!), which you are able to put toward the cost of any item you decide to keep! With my referral link, you’re able to try the Hatch Ambassador program for yourself for two weeks FREE! Here’s how it works:

When you join, they ask that you browse through their site and add at least 6 items to your Wishlist. They ask you a few questions about your style and then, based on your answers and Wishlist, send you three items. Two of them are picked by you straight from your Wishlist and the last one is handpicked for you, based on your style. This is one of the coolest parts of the program, I think. It’s like Christmas, because you get a surprise piece of jewelry in your shipment that’s tailored specifically to your taste. Here was my first shipment:

I got this pendulum necklace from my Wishlist:

And this pinecone necklace, also from my Wishlist:

image

Here it is on (it was my favorite. It looked cute with anything and was perfect for fall) with a simple white t-shirt:

image

And this delicate hammered-bead bracelet was their choice for me. I really liked it! I wouldn’t have thought to try it, so I appreciate their ideas of what I might like because I now found a new style that works for me. This was my dark horse!

image

Here it is on:

image

The items are valued at a total of hundreds of dollars, but don’t worry, the insurance is covered by Hatch in case anything is damaged. I was grateful for that when the dainty bracelet had a silk cord that accidentally got snagged when I was tightening it on my arm!
They arrive in individual boxes inside of a large package and are each in a cloth bag inside of their box.

image

Included was a welcome letter

image

A description of each item, retail cost, and the 20% off Ambassador cost. There’s also an area to fill in how much you liked or didn’t like each item and why. They’ll use that to help with future shipments.

image

image

I kept mine for a week, then sent them back in the prepaid envelope (shipping is free both ways)

image

According to the tracking # they provided me with, my next shipment should be arriving today!!! I’m really excited to see which items from my Wishlist are included and what they chose for me! UPDATE: My new package came today! The two from my list were the Branch Ring (which I put on as soon as I opened it. I’ll likely end up keeping that one!) and the rose gold colored Deer Antler Necklace, which I also love. The piece that the Hatch team chose for me was a pair of pinecone earrings which match the necklace I loved from my last shipment 🙂
I’m so happy to try these out!

In all, this program is absolutely genius. I couldn’t be happier and am looking forward to trying out their new 3D Printed jewelry!

Oh, and the Hatch Ambassador program recently received rave reviews from InStyle magazine, too!

“File this under too good to be true.”

FREE box of snacks from Love With Food!

Love With Food - Snack Smart. Do Good.

When I got my first box (it was a freebie just like you get from the link above!) from Love With Food, I was impressed…Impressed by the amount of items in the box at first. Then, as I pulled the items out of the box, the selection was great. I had sweet snacks, savory snacks, and everything in between. The best part was the taste. It was like someone went through all the products that sound great in the store, tested them all, picked out only the super awesome ones, and then boxed them up adorably and sent them to me with love, like they were my mama or something.

image

I waited until my second box to write this review. Some of the products were so good that I was searching to buy them while I was still eating them!

There are so many reasons that this is the best $10 I spend each month.
-I couldn’t buy these products at the store for $10, let alone have them shipped to my home!
-There’s everything from seasonings and sauces to candy and chips.
-These are natural products and carefully selected for being smart food choices.
-These aren’t bland or boring. There’s fun in each box. It feels like a mini-Christmas when it comes in the mail. My family gathers around to “call dibs” on the items as I pull them out of the box! (That’s totally true, by the way. Like a pack of wild animals!)
-For each box sent, a meal is donated to a hungry child in the US. Each month, I know I’m doing something good. Not only for us with these smart snack choices, but for a child who won’t go to sleep hungry.
-As a subscriber, you get member discounts on items in their shop!
-They offer (for a small fee) gluten-free boxes instead.
-These would make the perfect present for anyone in your life and it doesn’t get much cheaper than $10! (Or free!)

image

When you sign up, your first box is FREE! After you receive your free box, you can cancel or you can enjoy the automatic shipments each month. If you choose to cancel, here’s how:

I can’t imagine wanting to cancel this subscription. I can’t recommend it highly enough! Be sure to share your experience once you receive your free box!!

Choking Hazards for Children Under 4 You May Not Know!

Image

image

Quick! What are the top three choking hazards for children?
You likely said small building bricks, bouncy balls, marbles, gumballs, hard candies, batteries, which are all choking hazards…But did you know the top three choking hazards for children are hot dogs, grapes, and raw carrots?

In these summer cookout and picnic months, many people often forget about the choking hazards for children under age 4 that are readily present at your average dinner table.

Grapes need to be quartered, as do hot dogs. Personally, I have this simple hot dog slicer that my son loves to use all by himself (He’s 7 with special needs).
It has a cutting edge that isn’t sharp and even has a ketchup holder. I’m not sure if it’s recommended for the dishwasher, but I put it in the top rack.

image

image

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping foods including hot dogs, nuts, chunks of meat or cheese, whole grapes and hard candy away from kids younger than 4. Any food given to babies and young children should be chopped into pieces no larger than half an inch. Popcorn is also a commonly overlooked choking hazard in young children.

Please take careful inventory of this list compiled by WebMD:
•Carefully supervise young children during snacks and meals.
•Don’t feed your child while he or she is crying or breathing rapidly.
•Discourage talking, laughing, or playing while a child has food or beverage in their mouth.
•Seat children, especially toddlers, while eating.
•Don’t give children foods that may cause choking. These include hard, smooth, or chewy foods that must be chewed with a grinding motion or foods that are round and could easily get stuck in the throat.
•Cut food into small, pea-sized bites.
•Mash grapes, beans, or peas before serving.
•Dice hot dogs and sausages before serving.
•Avoid seeds, bones, and foods that can’t be cut into smaller pieces (such as nuts, popcorn, and hard/chewy candies).
•Only serve peanut butter spread thinly on bread or crackers. A spoonful of peanut butter can block the windpipe.
•Don’t give kids small items that may cause choking, such as marbles or jacks.
•Follow age guidelines when selecting toys for children.
•The safest toys for small children are said to be at least 1.25 inches around or 2.25 inches long.

Please share this with anyone who has small children or babysits young children. Spreading the knowledge can help prevent deaths!
