After an outcry of “dislike” on its Facebook page, Chili’s has decided to discontinue its Autism Awareness Month fundraiser that was slated to give a portion of proceeds to the group National Autism Association, which supports vaccine denial and suggests a link between Autism and vaccines, while scientific studies have consistently shown that vaccines do not contribute to Autism.
“While we remain committed to supporting the children and families affected by autism, we are canceling Monday’s Give Back Event based on the feedback we heard from our guests,” was the response from Chili’s on its website.
Chili’s hasn’t announced whether it will choose a different organization yet, but we hope they will consider one of the other options to help those with Autism to choose from.
I personally have had great experiences with the Autism Society. They have so many activities that they offer and are inclusive of all abilities. Love that!
